Teach your children how to be kind and accepting of those around them, and that just because some kids seem quiet or different doesn’t mean they should ignore them…because no school my daughter went to was willing to try to educate pupils about such things. Apparently “It could draw attention to the children with disabilities and possibly cause more bullying My little boy has autism, and we celebrated his birthday at the All I need today is a little bit of Disney and a whole lot of Jesus shirt playground this year. We invited about 8 of his friends from daycare and about 5 showed. 2 of the other parents called well in advance to say otherwise. One brought along a baby sister, and we had one little party crasher at the park. Glad it looks like my son’s peer group is more accepting. Yes, some might have a legitimate reason for not being able to make it, but with so many pulled out, those parents have questions to answer for, and their children probably don’t deserve to be her friends.

I think you know now just who her ‘friends’ really are. Great that total strangers can show up but so-called friends can’t. So glad she had such a great birthday & found some new real friends! My autistic son and his ADHD friend was often the only ones in their entire year not Invited to Birthday parties. So I would take them to the cinema or something on those days so they didn’t think about it. Heartbreaking when your kid asks you why he wasn’t invited, especially when he was popular in class. It just goes to show it was judgemental parents that created division when they really should be leading by example.

Shame on the parents of the All I need today is a little bit of Disney and a whole lot of Jesus shirt kids who were supposed to show up that day. Looks like they missed a wonderful celebration and a grand day out. Well done to the super dad who saved the day how rude of the parents that just didn’t turn up! We all know family life can be hectic and plans change but a simple message would have sufficed! Poor little girl, so happy it worked out in the end though sad that those other parents could be so callous to just not show up without word. Terrible lesson to their kids, unthoughtful to Remi and her (paying) parents. I’m so glad others stepped in to give her a special day.
